For this project, artist Joel Bergner partnered with the organization DASH (District Alliance for Safe Housing), which provides refuge and services to victims of domestic violence in the Washington DC area. The mural was designed based on interviews with victims of domestic violence and focuses on overcoming past trauma and looking toward a brighter future. Fundraising: March- June 2010

In order to raise money for the Domestic Violence Awareness Mural, DASH and Joel ran a fundraising campaign for months in the spring of 2010 through the website kickstarter.com. They also organized a successful fundraiser event, shown below. Thanks to everyone who supported the project!
